Another thrilling edition of Weird Word Wednesdays here on Somebody’s Daydream. Inspired by the WEIRDEST piece of documentary film I have seen in a while: Tiger King (on Netflix).
Has anyone else seen this strange and almost surreal show? How can these people be real? They seem like caricatures. Honestly, when I saw the image previews as I scrolled my Netflix suggestions, I thought it was a weird, off-color dark comedy. But it’s REAL, apparently.
Today’s word is tigon. It’s a noun, meaning the offspring produced by a male tiger and a female lion. Similarly, a liger is the offspring produced by a male lion and a female tiger. I never realized there was a distinction between the two, but there is. Oddly, it makes me feel a bit smarter to know that.
